Description:
Pennies for Robert Bed and Breakfast Program provides funds to assist with travel and lodging for patients who need to travel out of town or to Pierre for cancer treatment. The program assists individuals who live within a 60 mile radius of Pierre and Ft. Pierre. Patients traveling to Pierre for cancer care may also request travel funds. There are no income guidelines. Countryside Memory Center offers a free clinic to provide screening for individuals exhibiting signs of Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. Also available are a Dementia Care Partner Support Group and Breast Cancer Survivors Support Group and a guest house in Pierre for cancer patients traveling to the Helmsley Center for cancer treatment.
The Center does not provide direct Hospice Care but does provide financial assistance to Avera Hospice programs.
Finally, Countryside/St. Benedict's may have availability of rooms for a cancer patient and a family member travelling to Pierre for treatments.
