The mission of The Center (Yankton Senior Center) is to respond to the ever-changing needs of all adults and their families, provide opportunities and resources in the area of physical and mental health, nutrition, recreation, education, and to positively affect quality of life and assist in maintaining independence. Services offered are SHIINE, AARP Foundation Tax Aide, Scoop It Program, cell phone for travel, building rental, and equipment rental.

Pet Food Program is for seniors in the Yankton area to help feed their furry companions. If you complete an application and qualify, you will receive pet food in a 1 gallon bag per month, per household.
Commodity Supplemental Food Program is for those who are over 60 years of age and have a gross income of $1396 or less per month for a 1 person household or $1888 gross or less for a 2 person household. This qualifies you to receive a box of food monthly from the Feeding South Dakota Program. Complete an application for receive commodities which are distributed at The Center each month on the 3rd Friday.
The Meals on Wheels Program serves nutritious home cooked meals daily. Through the Center you can obtain and use a Center Dine card at Hy-Vee for a great meal in the evenings or on the weekends. Center activities offered include cards, bingo, billiards, quilting, Wii bowling, exercise class, scrapbooking, and board games. Attend a computer class, go on a trip or tour, check out a book from the Treasure Chest Library, or enjoy a good movie.
