Description:
A senior nutrition program which provides a noon meal each weekday to individuals aged 60 or better. Meals are served in a dining room setting for those who are able to attend. Home delivered meals are available for those who are homebound due to illness or frailty. Each meal meets specific criteria for nutritional content and provides the consumer with 1/3 of his/her daily nutrient needs.
Meals are available for anyone aged 60+ without regard to income status. A limited amount of federal funding is available to defray the cost of each meal. Participants donate toward the remaining cost of the meal. Others who may be eligible are those who live in congregate facilities where a congregate meal site exists or those who live with a guardian who eats with Senior Meals.
Meals are served at 12:00 p.m.. We also drop off meals to homes in Nisland. Office hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We accept self-payment and free will suggested donation of $4.25
