Description:
The Brown County Welfare office helps with: burial expense with prior approval, rent, utilities, travel for medical appointments, medicine, emergency medical bills (doctor charges, hospital bills). Dental expenses with prior approval.
Non-emergency services require prior approval. All services become a lien against the individual.
Housing assistance is based on income guidelines. All other assistance is based on income and expenses. The applicant needs to be age 18 or older.
The Brown County Welfare department DOES NOT take walk-in appointments. Please call with any questions and to schedule appointments.
